Introduction

On the first day, just like any new class, all nervous and anxious; wanting to see how the term is going to be and what is to lie ahead.  Well at least that is how it was for me.  The class has been full of learning new things and brushing up on old things that were taught.  It was composed of different writing styles and the many ways to find and correct your mistakes. My portfolio has all of the work that I have done in my English 101 class. In each of the ten outcomes there are reflection of what the assignment and the task was, and what they are.  They are all linked to my artifact page.  In the artifact pages, there are the artifacts themselves, then the details of what they are, and how they demonstrate competency.

Welcome to my English 101 portfolio. Here you will view the many different things that I have done over the term.  Here all of my outcomes are linked to my artifacts page.  The outcome explains what the general outcome for the assignment was. There is a reflection of what the artifact, description of the artifact, and then there is the link to the artifact page.  When you click on the specific artifact, it links you to the artifact page. On that page there are all the links that were described on the outcome page. Then there is a description of what the artifact is, and how the artifact demonstrated competency of the task that was assigned.

There are SGWA’s, which are Student Generated Writing Assignments.  These show that I know how to organize an essay, and that I am an independent thinker.   There is my research paper, which I wrote about good writing in a general sense. My research paper shows that I know how to do library research, self-editing and revising, and how to do a proper outline in the correct MLA format. There are a lot more different styles and types of writing that I have done, you will just have to read on and find out.

Many of the things that I have done in this class I have never done before. I had never written a paper in MLA format, I had never even herd of it until the first day of class, and thank goodness Jeff taught me how.  I feel that I still need to work on my self-editing and revising, the process to me is still new and I feel that if I work on it more I will certainly get better.

Please feel free to click and read.  You will then see how I have done over the course of this class.
